Clean Pulse – Privacy Policy

Who we are
Clean Pulse is an app for iPhone and Apple Watch provided by Mattias Grane, Malmö, Sweden. Contact: support@mail.grane.me.
What the app accesses
| Data | Source | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Heart rate | Apple Watch sensors, via HealthKit | Shown on screen in color-coded zones; used to decide when to give a haptic signal. |
| Distance (walking/running, cycling, swimming, snow sports, cross-country skiing) | Apple Watch, via HealthKit | Shown on screen while a workout is in progress. |
| Other workout measurements: active energy, steps, and, depending on the workout, running speed, power, stride length, vertical oscillation and ground contact time, cycling speed, power and cadence, and cross-country skiing speed | Apple Watch, via HealthKit | Collected by your watch during the workout and saved to Apple Health as part of the workout. |
| Location (GPS route) | Your Apple Watch, with your permission ("While Using the App") | Used only during a workout to save its route to Apple Health, so the route can be shown on a map in the Fitness app. The app does not use location for anything else. |
| The workout you start in the app (type, start and end time, heart rate, distance, energy and the measurements above, and the route) | Created by the app during your workout | Saved to Apple Health when you end the workout, like any other workout app. |
| Your settings: zone thresholds, whether to show workout time and distance, and whether the Lock Screen shows only your heart rate | You, inside the app | Saved on your device so the app remembers your choices. |
The app reads your heart rate, distance and the other measurements above during a workout, and writes the workouts you start in the app, with those measurements and the route, to Health. It does this only after you give permission, and it writes nothing else. You can change or withdraw Health permission at any time in the Health app or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, and location permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Without location permission, workouts are still saved, but without a route.
Lock Screen
While a workout runs, the iPhone app can show your heart rate, workout time and distance on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can see them without unlocking your iPhone. This means your heart rate is visible to anyone who can see your locked screen. You can limit the Lock Screen to the heart rate only in the app (Edit → "Lock Screen: pulse only"), and you can turn Live Activities off for Clean Pulse in Settings. The information is shown by iOS on your device and removed when the workout ends. It is not sent anywhere.
What we collect and share
Nothing. Your heart rate, distance, location, workouts and settings are processed and stored only on your device and in your own Apple Health data. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. The app makes no network connections, contains no third-party code that collects data, and does not use advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking of any kind.
Health data is not used for advertising or marketing, and it is not sold or disclosed to data brokers or other third parties.
Storage and retention
Heart rate, distance and location values are held in memory while a workout runs. When you end the workout, the app saves it, with its measurements and route, to Apple Health, which stores and manages it on your device (and in iCloud if you have turned on Health in iCloud). The app itself keeps no copy. Your settings are stored locally on each device and are removed when you delete the app. The iPhone and Apple Watch apps keep their settings separately.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. If you have questions about your rights under applicable privacy law (for example the GDPR), contact us at the address above.
Supported devices
Clean Pulse runs on iPhone with iOS 27 or later, and on Apple Watch with watchOS 27 or later. Heart rate comes from your Apple Watch; iPhone has no heart rate sensor.
Not a medical device
Clean Pulse is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosis, treatment or prevention of any condition. Consult a health professional about medical questions.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before the change takes effect.
